TERMS

Terms of service

These terms govern use of the TraceAna website, the TraceAna browser extension and desktop application, and the TraceAna GA4 Insights web application at report.traceana.com.

Last updated: September 4, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using TraceAna you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the products. If you are using TraceAna on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.

2. What the products do

TraceAna Debugger — a browser extension and desktop application for inspecting network requests, APIs, performance and analytics events on websites you choose to debug.

TraceAna GA4 Insights — a web application that connects to a Google Analytics 4 property you already have access to and presents that data as a funnel, anomaly and performance report. It is a reporting layer over data you already own.

3. Your account and access

  • You must sign in with a Google account that has legitimate access to the Google Analytics property you wish to report on.
  • You are responsible for the security of that Google account.
  • You must not use TraceAna to access analytics data or debug systems you are not authorised to access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the services, other users’ data or the underlying infrastructure
  • Interfere with, disrupt or place unreasonable load on the services
  • Reverse engineer or extract source code, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
  • Use the services to violate any applicable law, or Google’s own terms of service
  • Resell or provide the services to third parties without written permission

5. Data ownership

Your Google Analytics data and your debugging data remain yours. TraceAna claims no ownership over either. We access data only to provide the services, as described in our privacy policy, and we do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train machine-learning models.

6. Accuracy and interpretation

Important

All figures displayed in TraceAna GA4 Insights are those returned by Google’s Analytics Data API for the property and date range you select. Their accuracy depends on how your Google Analytics property is configured and on Google’s own data processing, sampling and thresholding — none of which TraceAna controls.

Certain outputs are explicitly modelled rather than measured, and are labelled as such in the interface — for example revenue values derived from a configured value-per-conversion, and “what-if” projections. These are arithmetic illustrations based on your inputs, not forecasts or guarantees.

Anomaly detection identifies where a metric deviates statistically from its recent baseline, and attribution identifies which segments account for that movement. Neither establishes a technical or commercial cause. You remain responsible for your own interpretation and for any business decisions you make.

7. Availability

The services are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time. TraceAna GA4 Insights depends on Google’s APIs, which have their own quotas, rate limits and availability characteristics outside our control.

8. Third-party services

The services rely on Google Analytics, Google account authentication and the Chrome Web Store, and may optionally use an AI provider to interpret natural-language questions. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. TraceAna is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TraceAna and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of the services — including any decision made in reliance on a report they produced.

11. Termination

You may stop using the services at any time by uninstalling the extension or desktop application, and by signing out and revoking access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached or where required by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
